Below Deck Med: Will Chef Mila Make It Through Season 4 After Her Homophobic Comments?

Below Deck Mediterranean’s new chef Mila Kolomeitseva is already causing a stir on the show just two episodes into Season 4, and it’s for all the wrong reasons. Between her controversial homophobic comments and her less than spectacular cooking, Chef Mila’s time on the Sirocco might already be coming to an end.

In the second episode of the season, the Sirocco crew was preparing for their first night out together, and Chef Mila took the opportunity to make some shocking comments that outraged her fellow crew members.

So, Mila is apparently a production plant, not a chef, and was replaced mid-season by Chef Ben. After seeing those nachos last episode I have zero doubt this is true. #belowdeckmed https://t.co/wh64J6pmau

“I don’t want to see a man kissing a man in front of me,” said Chef Mila. “In your home, you guys can do whatever you want. I don’t want my son to be growing up and seeing two men kissing each other and thinking this is normal because this is not f–king normal!”

Travis Michalzik, Jack Stirrup, and Aesha Scott were in the car with Mila and couldn’t believe what they had just heard. Michalzik told her to shut up or he would get out the van and never speak to her again. He added that her terrible opinion on gays shows her opinion on humanity, and he doesn’t support it.

After the episode aired, Scott tweeted that anyone in the world can kiss any other person, and added that Mila’s homophobic comments don’t reflect the opinion of anyone else on the show. Anastasia Surmava, Colin Macy O’Toole, Hannah Ferrier, Adrienne Gang, and Captain Sandy Yawn have all spoken up, letting fans know that “love is love” and Chef Mila’s “intolerance is unacceptable.”

Yawn also said that we should look at Mila’s words as a “chance to foster more acceptance in the world,” and it is an opportunity for her to learn and to make some changes, even though the words are painful.

In addition to her nasty comments, Chef Mila’s cooking has been a disaster, and Distractify is reporting that she might not last long on the yacht. Despite her being Below Deck Med’s first female chef – and her training at the Cordon Bleu – Siberian-born Mila is serving up guests tacos and licking raw steaks before microwaving them.

Charter guests on the Sirocco paid nearly $100,000 for a luxurious experience, and Mila’s burgers topped with Hidden Valley Ranch, sub-par Mexican food, and microwaved steaks aren’t cutting it.

“In nine years of yachting, I’ve never refused to take a dish out,” said Chief Stew Hannah. “But, I just cannot serve that to guests. It’s disgusting.”
