Cowboys part ways with Darren McFadden

The Cowboys will waive former Razorback Darren McFadden, according to ESPN. The report said the decision was mutual.

He will be placed on waivers and can be claimed by any team.

"Just want to say thank you to the [Dallas Cowboys]. I grew up a Cowboys fan and it was awesome to wear the Star on my helmet. I wish my boys good luck," McFadden posted to Twitter.

Alfred Morris and Rod Smith have been the Cowboys' primary backs while Ezekiel Elliott serves his suspension.

The 30-year-old McFadden has only been active once this season; he had one carry against Atlanta in Week 10. In fact, he has played in only three games the past two years after rushing for 1,089 yards in 2015.
