Tom Browning pitched the twelfth perfect game in the history of MLB. The baseball world was struck by a sorrowful news on Monday that the Cincinnati Reds’ legend has departed this life. The 62-year-old won the World Series in 1990 with the Reds, but made his last appearance in the league for Kansas City Royals.
Sheriff Michael A. Helmig disclosed that the police have suspected no foul play in the death of Tom Browning. They have taken over his possessions and would happily hand them over to the funeral home of his families choosing.
The Boone County Sheriff reported the news of Tom Browning, “On Tuesday. December 19, 2022, at approximately 1:01 PM Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the home of Tom Browning (Union, KY) after receiving a report of a man who was found not breathing. Upon arrival, deputies located a 62-year-old man, later identified as Thomas L Browning.”
“Unresponsive on a couch inside of the home. Deputies, along with E.M.S personnel, attempted life saving measures. However, resuscitation efforts were not successful. Mr. Browning was pronounced deceased at approximately 1:13 PM.”

Tom Browning has left a beautiful memory with his Major League Baseball fans; he left the game when Cincinnati Reds were playing in Wrigley’s Field against Chicago Cubs. He randomly jumped up on a rooftop full of drinking fans in full uniform waving at the camera.
Tom Browning is the sole player to ever pitch a perfect game in the Cincinnati Reds’ history. He completed his MLB career with a 123-90 record with a total of 1000 strikeouts.
He once even left the stadium in the Game 2 of World Series after his wife went into labor. The manager has no idea and asked announcers to issue statements on radio/TV asking Tom Browning to come back to the ballpark in case he is needed to pitch the last inning. Browning did hear the announcement but stayed by his wife’s side.
The Cincinnati Reds issued a statement after Tom Browning’s death, “The entire Reds family is stunned and deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Tom Browning. We join Reds Country in mourning the loss of one our all-time greats, who created so many memories and magical moments for us all. Our deepest condolences to Tom’s family during this difficult time.”
